Healthy Relationships
At Rockland Primary School, we are proud of our commitment to promoting positive wellbeing, respect, and healthy relationships for all members of our school community. As part of this commitment, we are working towards the Healthy Relationships Accreditation through the RE:SET programme delivered by Tender UK, a charity dedicated to preventing domestic abuse and promoting healthy relationships through education and the arts.
The RE:SET programme supports schools in developing a whole-school approach to relationships education, helping children to understand kindness, empathy, respect, equality, and safe relationships. Through creative and engaging activities, pupils learn the importance of communication, understanding emotions, and recognising healthy behaviours in friendships and relationships.
We are incredibly proud that our work has been supported by Academy Award-winning actress and Tender patron Olivia Colman, who visited our school and highlighted the importance of empowering children with the confidence and understanding to build healthy, respectful relationships throughout their lives. Her support helped reinforce the importance of creating safe, inclusive environments where every child feels valued and heard.
Our Healthy Relationships journey reflects our school values:
Believe – We encourage children to believe in themselves, to value others, and to develop confidence in building positive and respectful relationships.
Explore – We create opportunities for pupils to explore emotions, communication, empathy, and understanding, helping them to navigate friendships and relationships safely and positively.
Achieve – We support every child in developing the emotional knowledge and resilience needed to thrive as caring, respectful, and responsible members of society.
Through our work with Tender RE:SET, we are helping to create a school culture built on kindness, compassion, and mutual respect. Together, we aim to ensure that every child feels safe, supported, and empowered to develop healthy relationships both now and in the future.
